The artificial intelligence laboratory (LIA/DI/EPFL) of the Swiss federal institute of
technology in Lausanne is seeking to fill a PhD studentship on a
research project in numerical constraint satisfaction. The project aims at
bringing basic research together with practical requirements from engineering
applications. Candidates with a strong background in relevant disciplines
(applied mathematics, operation research, computer sciences ...) are
particularly encouraged to apply. The doctorate
will start in 1998 and interested candidates are invited to apply as soon as
possible.
