The Computer Science Department of the Centre Universitaire 
d'Informatique, University of Geneva, has several positions 
at doctoral and post-doctoral level. 

ASSISTANT / Ph.D. STUDENTS - MAITRE-ASSISTANT / POSTDOC

Applications are invited for several positions as doctoral 
and post-doctoral candidates in the Computer Department, 
Centre Universitaire d'Informatique (CUI), University of 
Geneva in Switzerland. The successful applicants will be 
integrated in the research groups of the department 
(http://cuiwww.unige.ch/) and will participate to the teach-
ing duties.

The CUI is an inter-faculty organization (Faculty of Sciences 
and Faculty of Economical and Social Sciences), hosting 
reputed research teams in computer fields and offering per-
formant framework for research.

The positions are to be filled at the Computer Science 
Department (Faculty of Sciences), whose research groups are 
working on:

o Artificial Intelligence ;
o Theoretical Computing ;
o Formal Methods ;
o Parallelism ;
o Teleinformatics and Operating Systems ;
o Vision and Watermarking ;
o Visual Programming.

ASSISTANT / PH.D POSITIONS.

- The candidates are expected to have an excellent honours 
degree, Master's degree or equivalent qualification (4 or 5 
years study, with a research component) in computer science 
or a closely related field, and to have a strong background 
in one of the centers of expertise of the departement 
(http://cuiwww.unige.ch/).

MAITRE-ASSISTANT / POSTDOC POSITIONS.

- The candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in computer 
science or a closely related field, and to have a strong 
research background in one of the centers of expertise of the 
departement (http://cuiwww.unige.ch/).

LANGUAGE:

Good knowledge of either French or English is mandatory. 
French is the spoken language in Geneva so some knowledge of 
French is beneficial. The candidate should be willing to 
learn some French.

transport links are excellent.

SALARY:

Assistant / Ph.D. Student: 45,653 CHF - per annum
Maitre-Assistant / Postdoc: 77.097 CHF - per annum

DURATION:

The position is expected to start as soon as possible, and 
last for one year. Continuation is expected (up to five 
years), depending on the satisfactory progress of the candi-
date and project.
