You can get your local phone for about 25 a month which would give you 
two upgrades like voicemail and caller ID, unlimited local calling. 
You'd opt out of long distance altogether and just use your cell for 
that.

then with the above package, DSL would be an additional 27/month and you 
sign a 1 year contract.

So for about 50 a month plus tax, you'd have land line phone and a DSL 
package.

I suggest the DSL because everywhere else you use your machine you have 
a high speed connection, and for you to try and save like 15.00 per 
month a 56K connection would be excruciating.

SBC has priced the chicagoland DSL so cheap that even if you try to 
price shop dialup that the 15 dollar a month savings isn't worth it.
