In Illinois there is a 15%(!!) 'telecommunications tax' on all data circuits.
City of Chicago also taxes data circuits.

*Many* providers bundle those in their base charge, and don't bother to
itemize it separately, but the gov't -does- get it's bite of your pocketbook.
