Called AT&T and asked them if  I could get a contract to get the promotional 
rates they are baiting new customers with.
They bumped me to $30 a month. They said no but offered to give me the next 
higher speed for $30.

so i checked things out today. Yep things are a little faster than the 
1.5/768 package. Well the download portion.

the last test being the closest to their advertised 3.00 down 512 up.

why does the upload speed lower when the download claim increases? hmm

If they are gonna eventually start charging me $38 for this speed tier I 
might as well make the jump
to comcast for $50 a month.
