A couple of my customers (LOL), one with a Motorola and one with an HTC phone wanted to set up TCP session on port 1237. Being a benevolent network ruler, I opened the port up for them I looked up the IP address and it mapped to outfit called Urban Airship at: http://urbanairship.com/ It's some kind of push technology which reminded me of the days of Pointcast. The above company started in 2009. I just thought that was interesting. I haven't seen any traffic than the device ACKing every 3 minutes keeping the TCP session up.
