I'm not really sure what you are asking here ... comp.databases.oracle
is a news group carried over USENET.  It shouldn't make any difference
which system you access it from.  One of them *might* be upstream of
the other and get the articles sooner.  Don't expect the articles to
be numbered the same though!  The numbers are assigned on a first-come
first-serve basis on each machine.

As far as CHINET goes, chinet.chi.il.us (ie. chinet) *was* a single machine
last I knew.  The specific news.group has nothing to do CHINET.

Which system to call?  Pick either one if you are lucky enough to have
two within local calling range.  I would have to assume chinet is the
most well connected site (it would be easier to get email there), I have
never heard of "Karl's kitchen".  vpnet, where your original message came
from, is also a well connected site.

My question would be: which has a better newsreader?
