The clout project provides email service in the .chi.il.us domain
for many sites in the Chicago area. Some sites listed above forward
mail and files to other clout sites. For more information about
clout or to report problems send email to postmaster@clout.chi.il.us.

Unusual conditions noted by Postmaster Of The Month or clout system
administrators for this week:

On December 12-13 aproximately 30 megabytes of email originated by a
user account @kirk.wustl.edu destined for a user @infopls.chi.il.us
filled the infopls spool area and temporarily halted transmission from clout
to infopls. Clout administrators were notified by Andy Rossman at infopls
and deleted aproximately 20 megs that were still spooled on clout. An
appropriate warning message was sent to the originating user and sysadmin
@kirk.wustl.edu. It is presumed that this is the work of a malicious
user. Incidentally (and pleasantly) email flow to other .chi.il.us sites
was undisturbed by these events.

Please enjoy a Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas, Winter Solstice and/or
Generic-End-Of-December Holiday as appropriate, and remember that old
traditional US custom of tipping your mail carrier :-)
