On June 16th, 7PM, at the Sheridan Naperville, /usr/group/chicago
presents RAID. No, not bug killer--something even better! A presentation
on RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) will be presented by
Mr. Bill Moylan.

RAID technology is becoming an important system component as an
alternative to SLED (Single Large Expensive Disk). The RAID concept
is based on work done by Professor David A. Patterson and others at
the University of California at Berkley. There are six levels of RAID
(0-5) with level 0 starting with striping and no parity, through RAID
5 with block-interleaved data and distributed parity. Benefits of each
level will be discussed, along with a discussion of the RAID 1 and 5
technology available from Data General.

Bill Moylan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a B.A. in Liberal
Arts from Lake Forest College, and a Masters in Management from the J.L
Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He
is presently an Account Executive with Data General Corporation.
