Audrey Hepburn took a big risk with her reputation doing Breakfast at Tiffany's but Capote directed the narrative with such subtlety that I suspect perhaps most people never realized that her character was a prostitute and that movie was arguably her best performance. IMHO it's her best movie. The Brits pulled it off with "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" which went for three seasons but that wasn't necessarily a comedy.
