Ok, research completed. What is going away from the TV world is 699 mhz to 806 mhz, which is channels 52 to 69. Verizon has aleady bought a chunk of that for wireless broadband, and, BTW, is also trying to buy Alltel wireless, my provider down here, which will make them the largest wireless provider in the world by a wide margin. An interesting side note that I came across in my quest is that channel 37 is exclusively assigned to radio astronomy.
