This paving company is running ads with the "we built it ourselves" theme. I remind the asphalt heads that gov. contracts pay for alot of work, and customers of your customers pay the money to pay for your work.

Roe Conn was the only show I could handle on that station without having my intelligence insulted. When Roe and his sidekick started to cater their show to the stupid I switched to Garry Meier. Garry has upped his game over the years on his own and is quite funny now. Unfortunately, other than Meier and Milt Rosenberg, WGN also caters to imbeciles, but a different kind of imbecile than those who listen to WLS. I don't understand that with all the different stations in Chicago why there is such a dearth of comedy shows like Meier's on the radio.

I like Meier's opening segment leading in to Skilling, the rest of the show can wander sometimes. When Dahl joins Conn a couple shows per month its funny. Their segment on the Vegas guy with "sack issues" was classic.

When they stick to comedy Conn can be funny and he knows quite a bit about local Chicago politics and its history and can make that funny too. His coverage of the Blago and Ryan trials should have won him some award because he got all kinds of great analysis from various guests and it was the go to place for up to date info on those trials. I like Mike Monaco and the segments with Ron Magers. Conn goes off the rails for me when he delves into national issues and waxes authoritative about things he doesn't understand himself. When he talks up my field, technology, and the so called "cyberwar" I find it quite striking how ignorant he is and still able to present an air of expertise that probably fools the vast majority of his listeners who don't understand technology either. It's much like how flim flam men operate. The final straw for me was his daily drum beat for war with Iran. I remember how this same BS started with Iraq years before the actual invasion and I find hearing the same bamboozle again without rebuttal rather depressing. So its that Meiers guy for me now. Meier sometimes likes to let the strangest callers on to spew their minds and half of them seem to be drunk or on some kind of medication or both. Quite funny sometimes. He even plays walking off music when his callers start rambling.
