BURLINGAME, Calif., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- If

The Menlo Park, CA firm is considered a leader in
treating -- and potentially reversing -- age-related
x
conditions among humans. Its technology is largely
centered around the genetic clock of cell aging -- the
telomere, and the key that is believed to rewind the
clock of cell aging -- telomerase. Geron's proprietary
technology platform has many applications in medicine
from age-related diseases to cancer.

In 1999 Geron acquired Roslin Bio-Med of Scotland, a
private company that developed the ``nuclear
x
transfer'' technology that spawned ``Dolly,'' the
world's first cloned sheep. The acquisition and
ongoing collaboration with the Roslin Institute
provides Geron with the complementary technologies
that may one day potentially allow individuals in need
of particular cell types for organ repair to receive
cells of a perfect genetic match, thereby eliminating
the risk of rejection
