I would like to learn about password protecting my web page. They tell me to make a .htaccess file and then run htpasswd like so: htpasswd -c <filename> <username> They dont mention anything about salt. htpasswd gives me the error: "Usage: htpasswd [salt]" Any good places to learn more about htpasswd and crypt() etc. ? Also do many of you use web-authoring tools that work better than vi :) and produce relatively clean (minimal) HTML? Just curious. Jawad
