According to Tyler Yip - UnixWeenie(tm) <davros@ecst.csuchico.edu>: :Anyway we could find out how much mail is backlogged on gangrene? Not in general. At the time you sent this message, I happened to be looking at gangrene's queue, so I know that there were a little over 11,000 messages waiting to be sent out. By a few hours later, it appeared that they had all been sent out. At the time of this writing, there are 1,288 messages in the queue. As best as I can tell, the main problem is that the combination of HP-UX and HP hardware just can't handle the volume of email we receive any faster. Basically, the I/O system is going just as fast as it can, but it isn't nearly fast enough for our needs. I hope to get this resolved over intersession. As always, suggestions are welcome. -- Py -- 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105... Pythagoras Watson -- "Live long and may all your kernels pop."
