I just quit my job of two years thinking it would be SO easy for me to get another job right away.. after all, I'm intelligent, a fast learner, hard worker, dependable.. so why can't someone just SEE all these great qualities and hire me on the spot?! Okay, so I know I'm just ranting here.. but I need to vent my frustration! I spent ALL DAY in Chico today and I didn't get anything accomplished! And how do I GET experience if no one will hire me so I can learn in the first place?? I *LOVE* computers.. has been my hobbie since I was yay-big. I can take 'em apart and put 'em back together, build 'em from scratch, design web pages.. geeze, I'm even learning about NETWORKING because I WANT TO, not because of a job or whatever. Okay, okay.. I'm done venting. For now. I'm going out again in the morning to do more job hunting. Wish me luck! Nora

I spent two years in a hiring position and let me tell ya for what it's worth: Your resume has to be tight! Learn as much about the gig as possible and then streamline your resume to match. You are best off faxing out customized resumes to potential employers and then waiting for calls. Maybe you have a job by now. Maybe not. Probably.
