🚀 go-pugleaf

We are Canadian citizens who have been tentatively offered contracts
to work in Santiago for 2 to 5 years. Before we make our decision,
we are trying to gather as much information as possible re: life in
Santiago. I have found some English sites on the net but none of
them have really given us a sense of what living in Santiago would be
like - most are geared towards tourists rather than residents.
Neither of us are fluent in Spanish yet (but we are taking Spanish
lessons), so we cannot read the local newspapers or sites like that.
We know that Santiago is a very modern city and everything we have
read or heard indicates that Chile is a beautiful country, but other
than that, we are in the dark.

We would greatly appreciate any information that you would be able to
share with us or any useful links that you know. We are interested
in information such as rental costs for houses/apartments (preferably
furnished), cost of buying a car, cost of car insurance,
gasoline/petrol prices, public transit, etc. Essentially the types
of things one needs to get by day to day or your impressions of
living in Santiago.

Thank you in advance for your help. We are both extremely excited
about visiting your beautiful country.

Gracias,
Kim
