You need a DOS partition, i.e. multi-boot.

What I do is restore the WS partition and then restore the DOS partition
- just restoring the WS partition fails.  Now, I must emphasis that this
is not after a HD crash.  If and when my HD crashes then I'll try it
again and let you know if it works on a *different* HD.

I have heard that there are "SID" programs that will also correct this
problem and perhaps someone can offer information on this as I have
heard little else.

I'm certain there are other ways (involving a rescue disk et al) too but
as the above works for me, I haven't spent time investigating further.
