ok heres my deal..... I have a block of IP's assigned to my company. and I have assigned my machines to IP's ..... the block is : 204.216.153.0 to 204.216.153.60 of course these arent the real IP's but this is what I am triing to do.... my router is assigned to 204.216.153.1 this connects me to the INET my mail server is on 204.216.153.2 all of my other machines are from there up to 30 I have a novell netware machine as my file server and I am bringing up a DHCP server. oh yea my subnet mask is 255.255.255.192 and my name servers are 192.188.712.21 and 18 at my ISP I want to be able to have this dhcp server running(it already is) and have some machine connect to it. they have, but what do I use as the subnet mask in the scope? and what about the name servers....I use the subnet in my scope and it says I can't do that. what I want is to be able to have some machines connect to the DHCP server, and get a dynamic IP and be able to see all the other machines in the network like before when they were static IP's. but as of now they don't see them. also I want them to be able to get onto the INET and to get their mail at our mail server which I mentioned before. how do I configure the scope on the dhcp server and how do I configure the client? and how do I get them on the INET? wingate? thanks alot, budding engineer. I hope.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------DF33F618D183C62C0107AAA7 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I hope I'm not going to tell you something about DHCP that I don't really know. Its my understanding that the DHCP server will supply the client with its IP address, gateway, nameserver and netmask. So the client side of the setup is to tell Win95/98/NT that its using a DHCP address. For the server side, the server would need to have all that in some config file, but having never set up a DHCP server, I can't adivse you.
