Keyboard on NT4 - Compaq Presario

My Presario 1260 Keyboard seems to have a few letters that don't work
on first pressing.

I've recently installed a synaptics touchpad updated driver, and the
problem appears to have started since then.

Anyone know of anything that I can get to improve my k/b?
