CDROM drive is missing

After having installed an HP 5100C scanner on WinNT4.0 SP4, I have lost my
CDROM setup. Invisible in MyComputer.

The ATAPI ,ATI, CDFS, CDROM and CDAudio services can not be started
anymore. I have an "invalid access error message", or the "device can not
be found error message".

I have installed the NT4 service pack 5, but the problem is still there.

I never asked HP to trade my CDROM acces for a SCANNER access.

Anyone out there ever had this problem? I want my CDROM drive back.
