Forgive me for posting this message again but I need advice desperately. I'm logging onto a standalone Win95 machine as myself. Using DUN, I connect to an NT Server. Now I want to access shared resources using a different username and password that I logged onto the Win95 machine as. I know that if I was using NT w/s I could've used the NET USE command specifying another username and password who has got the necessary permissions. Is there any way I can do this with Win95. If not in native form, is there any third-party software that will help? Thanks

I have not tried this, but it may work. Net use does the samething as mapping network drives. You right click on My Computer and click on Map Network Drive. you then type in the path of the drive. Then you put the username you wish to use to log in into the connect as box. If needed you will then be asked to provide a password. You may need to put the computer domain on before the user name but I am not sure

Thank for input. What you suggest works with NT workstation, but it doesn't apply to Win9x. Andre
Try this in ms-dos mode;
net accounts /forcelogoff /sync /{domain name}
then enter your net use commands
See what happens!

Hello, you need to logon on to the server again using net logoff/logon. Then net use will work. And... is the ms client configured for the proper domain name and the login box checked? Also configure DUN to log into network. This should allow you to to get a login box when first connected. Are you dialing into a RAS server or using an ISP? Armand
