Got a really tough problem. Using WinNt 4.0 . (have Office 97 professional
suite).
Cannot launch any Microsoft Office app from a shortcut of even from
Explorer. I get an error message saying "Cannot find Microsoft.exe" (duh
there isn't one). For some reason it doesn't know to look for the
appropriate application. Word,Excel,Access all are affected. I can work
around the shortcuts by modifying the Target to the application first, then
the file path. The file types appear to be properly registered. My system
skills are novice at best but my inclination is that there is an error in
the Registry (that's an area I have little knowlegde of). Just looking for
anyone that might have experienced the same condition......
  Looking for a solution short of reloading the applications...........
