Anyone had any experience with windows NT and a tnt card? I've tried a
viper 550 and creative labs tnt in NT and it won't load. I have service
pack 5 installed and it accepts the drivers (latest nvidia, diamond, and
creative) but when i reboot it's the good old 16 colors (only) and 640x480.
It has a message displayed that says "new graphics adapter installed, you
must configure your display settings" or somthing to the effect but the only
options are 16 colors and either 640x480 or 800x600. This is after several
complete format's and reinstalls. I've even tried reinstalled with an old
s3 card installed and switching to the AGP TNT card but that doesn't help.
NT accepts drivers for the s3 with no problems. My system config is:
Chaintech 6bdu w/dual pII 450's
128 megs of ram
scsi cdrom, cdw, and harddrive
dual boot setup with win98(installed first on fat16 partition)
Win 98 installs and performs flawlessly. Without NT howerver (or linux)
that other cpu is basically a doorstop so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time, Dave
