I have a NT 4.0 wks 4.0 sp 6a on a domain. The user is called TOTO, he is an administrator of the domain and is logged on the domain. He can do what he likes to do locally and on the domain. Locally the only user is "administrateur" Now I disconnect the TOTO user and log a TATA user which is only a domain user. I loose my desktop and the computer says :" the file name to the desktop is too long" If I change the TATA user to be admin of the local machine. (TATA stays "user of the domain" on the server). Logged on the domain , I find again the desktop. there is no particular profile or script for these sessions Help will be very appreciated PhM

Are you limited to 8.3 naming convention? and is the link to the users profiles longer then 8 charactures?
