[ Crossposted to rec.radio.broadcasting in hopes that someone there can tell me what's going on ] From 'grumpy@en.com': >Heard a new station for about 2 weeks now on 90.7 in Cleveland/Parma >(Pearl and Snow ). Well, now... this is interesting. I see from searching the FCC database that there is a 90.7 licensed to Norwalk, Ohio, about 20 miles south of Sandusky. It's listed twice, with one licensee listed as Cleveland Public Radio and the other as Kent State -- both entities run public radio stations (WCPN and WKSU, respectively), but this is still rather odd. There does not appear to be a callsign assigned to either CPR or Kent State. The closest station on 90.7 other than Norwalk is WKTL-FM in Struthers, a suburb of Youngstown. It's listed as being licensed to the Struthers board of education. Weird. Why are there two licensees for 90.7 in Norwalk? -- Tired of Earthlink? Get JustTheNet!
