I moved from Cleveland, my home town, to Baltimore in 1994. The thing I
miss most is the Metropolitan Park System. Growing up, I took our
fantastic park system for granted. Here in Maryland, parks don't
compare. There is very seldom adequate parking and rarely adequate
bathroom facilities. I used to go cross country skiing frequently in the
Cleveland parks; here we only get enough snow to ski on for five or six
days a Winter.

I also miss the availability of Slovenian sausage. I think I'm the only
Slovenian in town. Baltimore doesn't have the variety of nationality
neighborhoods, with their own bakeries and butcher shops, that we have
in Cleveland.

The cost of living is about the same here, based on federal indices, but
the taxes are much higher and the government is corrupt on all levels.
