Hmmm, considering that source, I'd believe that where you were Dave is truly GTE. From what I can hunt up, Montrose itself is fully GTE, but Montrose is so small that the surrounding areas of Copley, Fairlawn, etc, etc, are and have all been Ameritech, and AT(no other T! <G>) took over the area east of 77 & Rt. 18 that isn't within the City (there is a city?) of Montrose itself. Far as I can tell ya, 75% of what is West of Summit Mall is in that small city limits, and the only prefix they could scarf up was 666 and that dissappeared immediatley. Not to be outdone, AT goes and pumps up all the surrounding areas with more prefixes and slips service to whoever will take it. I even seem to remember a bit of a battle in the courts a few years back about turf limits, boundaries and rights between AT & GTE over that entire area. I'd say with almost complete assurity that GTE owns and operates Montrose, West of Montrose out past Medina and further, up 77 thru the edge of Summit Co., and then up towards I-71 and into portions of Stongsville, Brunswick, etc, etc. on the Lower West Side of Cleve. One problem... Someone answered a bit back that 518 was actually specified by AT as being a "geographical" area covering Maple Hts, etc. I've seen them give names to areas that are called something else, so Montrose wouldn't surprise me one bit to not be the City by that name. I've gotta call my contacts and that 800# and see what they say it's headed for. AT's known to change it's mind, too! <G> -- ** Dave S.
