I don't even live in NE Ohio anymore, but I grew up in Akron (about 40-50 miles south of Cleveland and in the Cleveland TV market). >So anyone want to tell me whether it's going to be my kinda place given >that I'm looking for somewhere that has good nightlife (ie live bands, >dance clubs, bars etc), has public transportation (so I can have a few >beers and get home safely) and is reasonably safe. Nightlife has exploded in the Cleveland area the past few years... all over town, but particularly in the "Flats" area...on the banks of the Cuyahoga River on the edge of downtown. The Warehouse District is right around there as well. RTA's Waterfront light rail line provides service to pretty much all of these areas late into the evening/night. Service elsewhere is great to good to spotty depending on where you are in the RTA service area. Just be prepared for much harsher winters than you're used to in Memphis. Cleveland gets snow, and a lot of it (depending on where you are in town - the so-called "snowbelt" east and southeast of Cleveland gets snowfall totals usually double or triple the rest of the area - the winds off Lake Erie deposit huge amounts of snow in parts of Lake and Geauga Counties). It's not quite Buffalo as far as snowfall totals, and it isn't the Arctic (or even Minnesota), but it's somewhat more "wintery" than Tennessee. Mike
