To: CableVision, Ohio: CC: Solon Chamber of Commerce, cle.general,cle.misc,cle.biz Dear Cablevision, I just wanted to write a note to tell you how dissatisfied I am with your service. I had intended to order G.I. Jane tonight and had invited several people over to view it. Unfortunately, your on-line menus are limited and I could not actually place the order until 8PM. At around 8, I turned the TV on and went to the PPV menu. G.I. Jane was not listed. Finally, on channel 72, the preview guide listed G.I. Jane and instructed me to press the PPV key to order it. When I pressed the PPV key on my remote, I was switched to the PPV menu which did not have G.I. Jane listed. I then called 216 691 1500 and tried to order it through the automated service. It was not listed as playing at 8 O'clock. Finally, I called back and spoke to an operator who I voiced my displeasure to. She made up all kinds of excuses for the fact that in reality is: YOUR SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Basically, you guys have a monopoly and I'm convinced that you have very little interest in providing quality service to anyone. I'm going to lobby Solon City Hall to try to get Cox or some other cable company who is genuinely interested in providing a good product to the customer and not simply raking in "the bucks" from a fixed crowd. I can only imagine what your Internet Service will be like when you offer it next year. I hope that Solon realizes that as we move into the next millenium, we will need a cable service that is capable of providing good quality communications. Originally, I had thought that a satellite dish would be more expensive but at this point, the extra money would seem to be worth it in order to get good service and a company that is interested in providing good service. I invite anyone reading this message in the newsgroups to please forward me any comments regarding their dealings with Cablevision so I may forward such comments to Solon City Hall. -Jaz
