I understand that this newsgroup is for internet services discussion, so here's my question. Who has had experiences with APK's service? I'm interested in signing up with them, but my wife uses AOL and she is not ready to give up her screen name there. I can't afford to be subscribing to two services at the same time. AOL is ok at times, but I do have problems with their system at times, and although the customer service personnel are plentiful, they rarely are able to fix anything (or at least let me know the reasons, etc.). For example, I've been trying to access my bank accounts at http://www.ohiosavings.com on which I'm already approved for their Bank By Net program. When I type up their Web page, I log on with my password, but their system tells me that I don't have any accounts. I phoned Ohio Savings twice to learn that everything is working kist fine at their end, and they can't see any reason why I'm not accessing my account information. They tell me to get another Internet provider, that AOL's software (which includes the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web service) is no-good. America Online, on the other hand first told me that this is a problem at Ohio Savings. I tested that by logging on through someone else's software, and I did successfully access my account information. I went back to AOL, and then they told me that my software needs to be upgraded. I insisted that I'm using their newest, most recent version: 3.0 for Windows and that I cant figgure out what to do since this is their latest version. Then, they told me that I need to upgrade to Windows 95! Can you believe that?! Since when is Windows 3.11 not good enough for Internet Access? I hear that Stratos is good too, but have not had any contact with them yet. Dale Wein DWComm@JUNO.com Use alternate address only: DWComm@JUNO.com (no mail will be accepted at the AOL address).
