I'm afraid you've given us far too much information to think about. If
you want someone to give you money for nothing, the last thing you
want them doing is thinking. The most successful scam of this kind was
perpetrated through a classified ad in a large number of US
newspapers, some time in the 1940s, I believe. The ad read: 'Last
chance to send ten dollars to...' followed by an address.

Then again, this might very well belong in alt.folklore.urban...

Anyway, what on earth do you need a Jeep for?
