Well, first of all, let me say that I didn't drive out to Bainbridge
from my *house* just to pay my phone bill. I was coming back from
Aurora, down Routes 43/306. The Discount Drug Mart is at 306 and East
Washington Street in Bainbridge, maybe ten or fifteen minutes north of
where I had to go. It was on the way back home... sorta. :>
The problem is that I used to go to Erieview because I knew the
payment would post the next day. I don't trust AmeriDreck with my
payments, basically (they've screwed me up more than once) and this
was the best way to ensure that the payment posted, and posted
quickly. Plus I'd get a receipt showing I paid, which I don't get when
I mail a payment. The underlying problem is that when I got to
Erieview the last time, there were two AmeriDreck employees sitting in
front of what used to be their public office, claiming there had been
a sign up saying the public office was closing. If there was a sign...
well... according to them, the office closed June 14th and there had
been a sign up, but I was there the last two weeks of May and saw
nothing. So, one of two things was happening.
1) They only gave people one or two weeks' notice, which is ridiculous
because most people only pay their bill once a month.
2) The people at Erieview were lying.
Pick one....
It is my theory that the public office closed because of lack of funds
due to the PUCO fines that they got hit with because they couldn't
figure out what customer service is. :P I explained this to the
AmeriDreck employees that were sitting there at Erieview, and for some
reason they gave me a dirty look. :>
