<shrug> Just another reason why I'm still hesitant about ISDN..
its been around for over 10 years and they STILL haven't gotten it
right. Installation and maintenance will need to be as easy as a normal
analog phone line before (and IF) it ever catches on. I'm curious to see
how ADSL will catch on when they finally start to roll that out.. ;) 6
Mbps down your current analog copper lines doesn't sound too shabby..
even if its only 28.8K-128K (sometimes 640K I think) upstream.. I'm sure
a lot of us could live with that.. of course, knowing the phone company,
they'll do something brilliant like roll it out and forget to mention
that they offer it, forget to tell their tech support reps that they
offer it, forget to tell customer service guys that they even offer it,
etc.. "We offer ADSL? I haven't heard anything about it.. what's ADSL
anyway?"
Same thing with the cable modems.. by the time they roll out the
technology and get enough people to notice it, the technology is obsolete
and the bandwidth it offers is not that good. (or else it remains too
expensive for the average person to afford.)
