Have you been keeping up with the various articles being posted to
cle.misc, general, and everywhere else talking about the huge E-Mail
spam which originated from a _employee_ at multiverse.com? We'll be talking
about all the gory details tonight (Sunday Evening, Monday Morning)
on a Cleveland OH. area radio station, WCSB 89.3... Steve's
show is usually 12am until 3am. - Check It Out, this one will be fun.

recap:
a spam of mail came from multiverse.com and was sent to all
the users of local ISP's such as APK Ltd. (wariat.org) and ExchangeNET,
(en.com) - The spam also covered the Cleveland Free-Net, and hit an
estimated 184,000 mailboxes with a combined size of 600megs. This figure
is an under estimate. A Vice President of the company stated over the phone
that nobody by the name 'richard' worked for the company or was terminated
from any position.

Jamie Rishaw, the person many people feel is responsible for the spam,
who signs his posts and mail as "System Administrator" claims he did
not give Richard permission to send these letters, and fired him.
Jamie also denies all knowledge of the spam prior to its destruction.

This letter was a Document which stated the prices of Multiverse's new
SLIP rates for the Summer. This article was an advertising hype, to
get users to call their office. An unethical method of advertising
and undercutting the competition. The article fails to mention a $50
startup fee, making false advertisment a consideration.

Some of the things that will probably be discussed would include...

-Public statments of the attack 5days prior by a Multiverse Employee
-Multiple evidence which points to whom caused the spam
-The truth to the existance of Richard
-Past experiences with Multiverse

-much much more. It looks to be an interesting convorstation, and you
never know who might show up. I can't wait to see just who calls in.

/* My opinions are of my own, not of my non-existant employer, nor of
 * New Age Consulting Services, (NACS), of which system I am a user
 * on.
