I need to have several photos scanned. Does anyone have a
recommendation for an inexpensive way to get this done in the
Cleveland area?

Thanks.

Jeanne,

Try Budgetweb. They maintain a list of low cost web services, which
includes scanning. Here's the URL for scanning services in OH, which
does have one in the Cleveland area.

http://budgetweb.com/budgetweb/scanning.shtml#usa-oh

The main URL for budgetweb is http://www.budgetweb.com/budgetweb/

Good luck,

Carol

Jeanne;

You might try Bestgen Publications in Willoughby, 216-946-0700. Or you can
try The Ink Well, Also in Willoughby, 216-946-6800

Cheers;

You can also try your nearest Kinko's. They offer a variety
of computer services in addition to photocopying.

Either different outlets have different policies or the policy has
changed recently.

At University Circle in May when I called they said it was a full-service
item only, $7.95 per scan or slightly less for multiple scans.

Well, all the Northern Ohio-area Kinko's are owned by the same
franchise, so it's not policy differences. What the difference is is
that Rich got a quote on using the local Kinko's "design stations"
which have lots of fancy equipment and extra software, and are about
twice the cost of their normal self-serve Macintoshes; the $7.95 is
for a Kinko's DTP worker to scan it, but there is a twenty-four hour
turnaround on the full-service scans. Actually, eight bucks would give
you twenty self-serve minutes, which should be more than enough time
for most people to scan one picture, so in general unless you're real
slow, using the self-serve design station is cheaper.
