Problem FTPing from one computer to another

Hi, I have two computer hooked up through ethernet cards and I'm trying to
FTP some files from one computer to another, but for some reason it's not
working.
What I'm doing is typing "telbin" on one of the computers and on the other
I'm typing "ftp <address>"

After typing "telbin" I get the following prompt :

     Server mode, Press Esc to exit or Alt-A to begin a session

and after typeing "ftp <address>" I get the following prompt :

      unable to open <address>

By the way, I'm using ncsa version 2.3.05

Does anyone know what could be wrong?
