Dear all, I am currently doing a literature review on the subject Cellular Networks and it's Performance Issues. I have completed the first section of the review and need information for the second section. In the second section I have been asked to include the details of base station operation(queue implementation) and mobile switching center(queue implementation)-> and also about the hardware in both these devices - processors, etc that handles this queuing and routing. I have tried searching for material about these topics in the library and journals but all attempts were futile. I have also been asked to write in detail on what happens when a call is made by a subscriber to the moment when the receiving subscriber receives the call. I have looked up a book entitled Mobile Cellular Telecommunication by William C.Y.Lee and he discussed the steps that takes place in an analogue cellular system. He was discussing about Dedicated Control Channel and Paging Channel which are seeked by the mobile phone when switched on. Then he went on explaining about overhead information and etc. I really would like to know if these steps apply in digital cellular networks too. If you wish to answer these questions please e-mail the answers to me. My e-mail address is : pr4@doc.ic.ac.uk I would be very grateful to anyone who could answer these questions and send it to me as soon as possible. Thankyou very much, From, Rajkumar.
