You admit that you lied in response to a direct question, and believe 
that this had nothing to do with your termination? You have no case. 
Ohio law does not require an employer to give a valid reason for firing 
you unless you are represented by a labor union, and then only if it's 
in the union contract. And since you lied about having a personal 
relationship with a hiring candidate who was subsequently hired, your 
former employer actually *does* have a valid reason for firing you, 
compounding the level at which you have no case. If you felt the 
question's answer was none of their business, you should have said as 
much rather than lie about it. You might find an attorney who will take 
your case, but I can't imagine that any respectable judge wouldn't throw 
it out in an instant.

You're probably right, but the difference is that your lie was caught. 
Life isn't fair. Deal with it.
