I'm a US citizen who's been to Canada at least 20 times over the past four years. I don't know the official policy, but I've never had to produce any documentation, even when transporting citizens of other countries. Of course, most of my crossings were at the Buffalo area Peace Bridge, not Niagara. Rumor has it things are indeed tougher at Niagara. If you really want to play it safe, bring your passport. Visa not required. I think you're allowed to bring $400 worth of stuff one-way over the border, but only if you stay for two days. DISCLAIMER -- I'm not a lawyer, US or Canadian customs official. Use this info at your own risk. -- Mark Maimone phone: +1 (412) 268 - 7698 Carnegie Mellon Computer Science email: mwm@cmu.edu WWW: http://www.cs.cmu.edu:8001/afs/cs/usr/mwm/www/home.html
