Hi, my name is Joshua Mindel; I'm pursuing a PhD in the Engineering and Public Policy department. Please pass this message along to graduate students in your department that have young children. Please bring your spouse and child(ren) to the CMU Graduate Orientation Picnic on Wed, August 23. The newly formed Graduate Student Children's Club (GSCC) will be there with balloons and bubbles for the kids. Though optional, we'd also like you to signup for the GSCC mailing list. There is no obligation on your part, we'd just like to collect names of graduate students with kids to announce infrequent GSCC activities for your family during the semester. The GSCC is a new CMU club for graduate students with young children. A few CMU graduate students with children established this club to provide an informal forum for graduate student families to meet each other on a social basis to talk about kid stuff (e.g. fun, babysitters, daycare, pediatricians, etc.). The GSCC will also be represented at: Aug 16 (noon) - Int'l Orientation family support presentation by Linda Melville Aug 17 (11 to 1) - GSA table in Connan Aug 26 - Grad Student Orientation Hope to see you there, Joshua ---- Joshua L Mindel (in pursuit of PhD) Telecommunications Infrastructure and Economics Research Group Engineering and Public Policy Dept.
