I'm a single parent with a 4 year old child. I'm planning
a week's vacation for the two of us and have an idea about
the kind of place I'd like the two of us to go but don't know
if it exists. I'd like to go to some kind of resort where
there would be other families with children of similar age
and where there are activities for the children so that I
could have some time to myself every day. I'd also like
babysitting services to be available at night if I chose to
stay out a night or two. I guess I'd like this place to
be somewhere beautiful- it doesn't have to be in the U.S.
Thanks in advance for your help!

How 'bout Club Med? My husband and I, (and her grand parents)
took our daughter to the one at Eleuthra (sp?) in the
Bahamas. For children they have mini clubs with
activities more or less all day, so if you want
time for yourself you can get some. They will also
feed the four year olds dinner, and then have more
activites for them so you can eat dinner in peace.
You can pay some of the care givers to watch you
child later, though we never tried that. And the pink
sand beach was the most beautiful I've ever seen.
