The Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Inc. (PICT), a new not-for-profit theatre company which incorporated January 1997, is looking for volunteers to help promote its May 1997 kick-off production "The Constant Couple." A variety of help is needed from technical to managerial to artistic to fundraising. Anyone interested please contact Stephanie Riso <riso@andrew.cmu.edu> for more details. PICT aspires to fill in the Classical Theatre niche in Pittsburgh by offering quality productions that would otherwise not be performed locally and by utilizing and compensating local professional talent. PICT's mission is to provide audiences with the finest talent and the most innovative and classical approach to historical drama. PICT has a 14 member board of directors and is in preparation for their first production - a Restoration Comedy by Irish playwright George Farquhar "The Constant Couple." David Henderson of the CMU Drama Department is costume designer and Michelle Christensen (a recent CMU grad) is costume builder. Marshall Seltzer, who sets can be seen at Gargaro and Jewish Community Center shows, is the set designer. Local professional actors make up the cast, and the production will include a live pianist and singer. Co-Founder and Vice President of PICT is CMU alumn and current staff member Stephanie Riso. Please contact her at <riso@andrew.cmu.edu> or 268-3027 for more information.
