SEI Interactive Highlights PSP and TSP in June 1999 Issue, Now Available Online at http://interactive.sei.cmu.edu The June 1999 issue of SEI Interactive (Volume 2, Issue 2) checks in on a revolution-in-progress: the use of the Personal Software Process* (PSP) and Team Software Process* (TSP) to transform the way engineers develop software. For our Background article on the subject, we offer a condensed version of a three-part series by Watts Humphrey, which originally appeared in the journal CrossTalk. Our Spotlight focuses on the use of the PSP and TSP technologies at major organizations, including Boeing, Motorola, and Hill Air Force Base, which have overcome the challenges of implementing the technologies to enjoy more realistic scheduling, fewer defects, and overall efficiency improvements in software development. And in our Roundtable, several people who have taught engineers to use PSP and TSP in industry and academia share their insights on how to convince engineers to change their habits for the better. In addition, the March 1999 issue presents new columns on software architecture, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, net-centric computing, computer and Internet security, and the latest from the SEI's Watts Humphrey. New this issue is an additional column, The Business Edge, which focuses on software engineering from a business-strategy perspective. SEI Interactive also provides a new interactive survey and discussion every week on an important software engineering topic. Join us for these features and columns, and add your own thoughts through our interactive discussion groups.
