Hope all of you had a great mid-semester break!  The next cmuOUT 
meeting will be (as usual) on Friday, October 27, 4:45-5:30 with a 
showing of recent Will & Grace episodes after the meeting.

Below - minutes from the last meeting (October 13):

Participation in NGLTF's Creating Change 2000 conference:
We've managed to secure partial funding from Student Affairs for 
sending representatives to the conference.  (An e-mail was sent after 
the meeting & based on the responses - our representatives are 
Claire, Terry and Ron).

World AIDS Day:
Discussed options for cmuOUT activities for World AIDS Day (December 
1).  Options include a speaker and an information table.  Ryan agreed 
to head up these activities.  We also discussed an option of walk-in 
testing - Ron will inquire about this option with Student Health 
Services and the PATF.
Update since the meeting:  Student Health Services are planning a 
week of events with Student Activities on the week of December 1. 
They suggested holding a candlelight vigil on Thursday, November 30. 
cmuOUT has the option of co-sponsoring this event.  We will discuss 
this in our next meeting.  If you are interested in helping to 
organize this vigil - please reply to this message!

Booth at Spring Carnival
There is interest in having a booth at Carnival.  We need volunteers 
to make it happen.  Interested?  In the mean time - Alisa will be our 
representative in the Spring Carnival meetings.

Events for the Spring Semester
* Prom / Dance.  Enthusiastic support for having a large gay event. 
Whether it will be a prom or a dance is still to be determined.  We 
will discuss it again the next meeting.  You can also send your 
opinion to out@andrew.  Preferred timing - January/February, possible 
a Valentine's Day Dance.
* There is also interest in planning Gay Jeans Day for next semester.

Winter issue of "The Agenda"
The issue is planned for December, before winter break. The deadline 
for submissions is late November.  Send any writings, photos, 
graphics, poems, or information that you want to submit to 
out@andrew.cmu.edu.
