When you "install" tomcat you don't actually register it with the registry - so I don't see how you can pick an option to run it as an NT service. (Unless you "install" it from recompilation - and I'm not sure on that.) As for uninstall - install - do you mean delete the whole directory and then uncompress the .zip again? That shouldn't make a difference since you don't actually install (register with the os) the application. It just needs to be configured right. I guess I need to be more precise. When you set it up to run as a service - what did you do? Did you change to the tomcat directory, and run the tomcat.exe to set it up as a service? I have looked at the parameters that exe takes, and it looks like it might do something like that - but I haven't been able to get it to work. IE - i don't know what the start class is, which jvm .dll I should use - (the one in the jre directory?). Is that what tomcat.exe is for? This would solve all my problems: Are there any instructions anywhere for version 4.0.1 like there were fore 3.x? I have looked through much of the install documentation - and didn't see anything.
