Research Associate, full-time, temporary. Assist professional staff in
research on genetic and physical mapping in plants. Perform experiments as
needed including extraction of plant genomic DNA and bacterial plasmids,
gel electrophoresis, Southern blotting and hybridization, fluorescence in
situ hybridization, and greenhouse studies. Individual will be responsible
for ordering lab supplies and performing monthly radioisotope wipe-tests.
B.S. degree or evidence of pending degree in Biology or related field
required. Good organizational skills and initiative, ability to relate
well with people, and interest in learning molecular techniques, including
work involving radioisotopes. Must be conscientious and flexible.
$18,000-20,000 with fringe benefits.
