Hi Dave. I wouldn't count on the DSL providers
either. We were promised in October, believe it
or not, and we still haven't got it, /and/ we're
in the state capitol. It should have been easy.

Anyway, I thought I should point something else
out. If your kid has the old machine running just
like he wants, you can speed up the reloading and
resetting if you want to. We didn't want to do it
manually when we upgraded last summer so we
ordered aloha bob's from www.alohabob.com and had
it do the whole proces for us. Not a lot of people
seem to know about it yet, but it works well and
makes the new machine ready to go in a couple of
hours rather than days.

Maybe that will appease your kid? That and an
internet connection, which, as somebody said, you
can get for free for a month or two or three...
We get CDs from Juno every once in a while.
They're free but there are pop up ads. Might not
matter in the short run.
Good luck -- T. Astor
