Is that so?  I use my guns primarily for target shooting.  What that has to do with crime I don't know.  Home and auto defense is purely a secondary use.  I don't live in fear waiting for criminals to come crashing through the door.  OTOH, I see no reason to be defenseless.

That is your choice, of course.  You can depend on the police to protect you and your family, or at the very least to take a report of what happened.  Which family member can you potentially spare?
