The Uniform Commercial Code also gives consumers a right of > inspection before accepting purchased goods. Housing consumers never find out what's wrong with common ownership developments until they've bought their 'own' home in one, and if they've bought one for the purpose of getting the protective insulation homebuyers expect to get with owning 'their own' home, they're in for a shock. Some of these places are advertised as carefree living. That's tantamount to consumer fraud, IMO. There's more useful consumer information on a candy bar, than what COD homebuyers get. The real estate industry opposes timely, adequate disclosure on the grounds that "it would hurt sales," and 'your representatives' do what that industry tells them to. > See /Bad Software/ by Cem Kaner.
